About the data

Products. Specifications are read from each manufacturer's product page or spec sheet; the page is linked and the read date is shown. We show no prices: the store shows the current one. We do not scrape retailer pages.

Outages. SAIDI/SAIFI come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration Form EIA-861 Reliability file (including major event days). State values are EIA's own state totals from the same file (any reporting standard); utility rows use the IEEE standard where reported.

Error codes. Extracted from official owner's and service manuals, with the manual page. Summaries, not reproductions. Always follow the manual's safety instructions.

Comparisons. A comparison page exists only for two models of the same type from different makers, within 25 % of each other in size, with enough specs both makers publish. The text states differences in published numbers; it does not judge. Specs one maker does not list are left out.

Best picks. Lists such as "best power station for a CPAP" filter models by what the task needs (output, surge, capacity, weight, noise as published) and compute run times with the same formulas as the calculator; then they sort by US popularity. We have not tested the products; the method is stated on each list.
