Privacy policy

No accounts, no tracking cookies. The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies and has no sign-in. The calculators run entirely in your browser; the appliances and hours you enter are not sent to us. Your choices may be kept in the page address so you can share a link, and the light or dark theme you pick is remembered in your browser's local storage, which is never sent to us.

Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (IP address, browser, page requested) to deliver pages and protect against abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. The home page asks Cloudflare which US state your connection comes from, to show that state's outage figure; we receive only the state code and do not store it.

Store and manufacturer links. When you click a store link such as "Check on Amazon", the store sees the visit and may set its own cookies to credit the referral (see the affiliate disclosure). Their privacy policies apply on their sites.

Product photos. Some product photos load from the manufacturer's servers. We send them no referrer, but their servers see a normal image request.

Analytics. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Its script sets no cookies, does not use local storage and does not build a profile of you; it sends the page address, the referring site, your browser type and page load times, and we see only totals.

Changes. If we add advertising or other analytics, this page will say so before it starts.
