Connection and wiring
Follow the diagrams in the Rich Solar manual. Connecting to a home panel needs a transfer switch or interlock and a licensed electrician.
Error codes and troubleshooting
| Code | Meaning | What to do | Manual page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charge overcurrent protection | Charging current is too large, for example from the charger or the inverter supply exceeding the system's maximum charge current threshold, so the charge overcurrent protection activates. | — | 25 |
| Discharge overcurrent protection | Discharge current is too large, for example the load drawing more than the system's maximum discharge current threshold, so the discharge overcurrent protection activates. | — | 25 |
| High ambient temperature protection | Ambient temperature is too high. The system detects this and activates high temperature protection, and the battery pack stops operating to protect itself. | Bring the ambient temperature into the 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F) range. The battery can then be used normally again. | 25 |
| Low ambient temperature protection | Ambient temperature is too low. The system detects this and activates low temperature protection, and the battery pack stops operating to protect itself. | Bring the ambient temperature into the 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F) range. The battery can then be used normally again. | 25 |
| Parallel failure protection | A fault in the parallel-connected battery system triggers parallel failure protection. | 1) Connect the upper computer and check that each module runs properly, with no alarms or protection messages. 2) Check that the DIP switch addresses of the battery modules are set in sequence, with no duplicates and no unset addresses. 3) Check that the voltage difference between the main module and any other module is less than 0.5V. If the form does not help, contact after-sales service. Call service if it persists. | 25 |
| The communication between the screen and the device is lost | The LCD display has lost communication with the battery device. | Check the display program for errors, check whether the display screen is faulty, check whether the wiring harness is faulty, and check whether the motherboard has a problem. If the form does not help, contact after-sales service. Call service if it persists. | 25 |

FAQ
How long will the Rich Solar ALPHA 5 PRO run a refrigerator?
About 97 hours for a typical 120 W refrigerator that runs 35 % of the time, after inverter and depth-of-discharge losses.
Can the Rich Solar ALPHA 5 PRO start a sump pump or well pump?
Starting surge matters more than running watts: this unit is rated 5120 W output (no separate peak published). That covers a typical 1/2 HP sump pump (about 2150 W to start). Use the calculator with your exact pump.
